Minecraft VR Arrives on Oculus Rift


The fans of the sandbox-based explorer game Minecraft will be able to immerse themselves in its world of vibrant graphics as Minecraft launches on the Oculus Rift.



Global Xbox and PC owners with the headset will be able to receive a no-cost Windows 10 beta upgrade to enable them to join the VR world.



The game is among the first major titles to be launched on the highly anticipated Facebook-owned Oculus Rift. It will be available in Europe later this month.

Mike McGrath, the AR/VR game's creator, posted on Xbox Wire: "For new and experienced players, we hope that the VR experience in Minecraft Windows 10 Edition Beta will illuminate the power, evocative and immersive VR can be."



The VR version of the game has the ability to see over the edges of ledges.

OCULUS RIFT GETS AN OFFICIAL UK LAUNCH DATE



Oculus Rift has been the most talked about tech for years. The first developer kits were sent out in 2012.



The latest official news is that the kit will go on sale in the UK, Europe and Canada on 20 September, with the price of PS549 or EUR699. It's already available in US priced at $599.



The headset is already available for purchase at John Lewis, Amazon, Game and Game. The kit will include Lucky's Tale platform game, along with hundreds of VR videos and films.



Oculus will be rolling out demo experiences at retailers across the UK in the coming weeks, with titles including: The Climb, Henry, Farlands and Oculus Dreamdeck.oculus.com/e...
